Summit ABI VISTA AVS Ankle Brachial Index Doppler. This is the model L450VA and it retails for $4995. MEDICARE REIMBURSEMENT: CPT Code: 93922 Ankel Brachial Index (ABI) = Non-invasive physiologic studyies of upper and lower extremity arteries; bilateral single level. Medicare reimbursement varies by state but on average you can bill Medicare $75 for each examination. So if you do 3 examinations a week, you will be able to bill $11,700 a year. Easily justifying the cost of this machine and with the forms and printout, all requirements are met. ABI EXAM EXPLAINED: The most common test to diagnose Peripheral Arterial Disease (PAD) is the Ankle Brachial Index (ABI) examination. The ABI is a simple non-invasive test performed with a monitor and blood pressure cuffs. The test measures the systolic pressures at the lower and upper extremeties. If the ankle systolic pressure is lower than the arm systolic pressure the patient could have some stage of peripheral arterial disease. An ABI chart is used to calculate the results. Risk factors are: leg pain, diabetes, heart disease, previous vascular sugery, numbness/tingling in lower extremeties, over 50 years of age, hypertension and smoking. We carry the entire line of Summit monitors and accessories. The Vista AVS makes the ABI and other arterial exams faster and easier to conduct, interpret and document. The exam is managed by an on-screen guide and hand-held controller. Advanced diagnostic features have been included to enable the user to perform fast, efficient peripheral arterial exams. The Vista AVS has three modality options that allow for variation in obtaining systolic pressures and waveforms. Either the bi-directional Doppler probe or pulse volume recording (PVR) can be used to obtain ankle waveforms for reimbursement. Pressures are obtained by using either the bi-directional Doppler probe or the PPG probe. The Vista AVS is a full-featured Vascular/ABI system with 3 modalities: PVR, bi-directional Doppler probe and arterial PPG. With automated cuff inflation/deflation, built-in printer, graphic waveform display with step-by-step ABI instructions, and 5 cuffs. It comes with a PC software package with full-page reporting and exam storage, including download capability for integration into EMR systems (pdf and csv file formats - USB Interface to PC). It is designed to make the ABI and other arterial exams faster and easier to conduct, interpret and document. Features and Options: Doppler: PVR: PPG:
